History

Galtec Limited was formed in May 1988 by brothers Tony and Terry Galvin.

Galtec started to grow and mature as a business when Tony joined Terry full time having left his position at Heron Homes in 1993. From being based initially at Tony’s home in Longlevens and then Upton St Leonards, Galtec moved to renting bespoke office space in Spa Road Gloucester.

‘Right place at the right time’.

The early 1990’s saw the UK in the midst of an economic recession. Nevertheless, through a series of successful relationships with more established national house builders, Galtec Ltd was able to grow and expand its client base.

Through the 1990’s, the acquisition of more Plant and Machinery and Motor vehicles, plus the increase in staff to administer the business, the requirement for Galtec to move to larger premises became more acute. Eventually an opportunity arose to acquire a larger office space that came with a yard, workshop and some land on Bentham Lane at Witcombe in Gloucestershire. The location was perfect for quick access being just a few minutes drive from M5/ J11A, the A46 and the A417.
